Obituary for Emma "Rene" L. Cook

Emma “Rene” Lorene Cook, age 80 of Breckenridge, Texas passed away on June 8, 2019 surrounded by those she loved so much. The family will welcome friends for a visitation on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 from 7pm to 8pm at the Melton-Kitchens Chapel. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at 10 am at the Melton-Kitchens Chapel of Memories, with interment to follow at the Harpersville Cemetery under the direction of Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home of Breckenridge.
Emma Lorene Malone was born on May 8, 1939 in Elsa, Texas to the parents Bill and Hazel Malone. As a young lady she met and eventually he became the love of her life for over 65 years, Bob Cook. The lived happily in Breckenridge most of their marriage and raising six children in the town they called home. Rene had the Buckaroo Florist for over 30 years. Her florist and her customers meant the world to her. She ran the Buckaroo Florist until her accident. Rene loved family gatherings, watching car races of any kind especially Nascar. She enjoyed sewing and made lots of her children’s clothes throughout their younger years. Rene would take the ATV out and drive on their property looking at their horses and the beautiful scenery on a weekly basis. She always felt complete while serving the community and those she loved. Rene will be dearly missed by her family and many friends.
Rene is survived by her husband, Bob Cook of Breckenridge, daughters; Kathy Hardin and Spouse Julie Hardin of Abilene, Debbie Carnes and husband, David of Abilene, sons; Scotty Cook and wife, Denise of Abilene, Bo Cook and wife, Cheryl of Breckenridge, Willie Cook and wife, Tammy of Azle, Texas, Richard Cook and partner, Melissa Crammer of Breckenridge, sister, Marilyn Malone of Holly, Texas, 15 Grandchildern, 24 Great Grandchildern and 1 Great Great Grandchild, along with many friends.

Memorials may be made to the local Meals on Wheels in Breckenridge, and may be left at the Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home office. Condolences may be made at www.meltonkitchens.com
