Obituary for Juanita Hymer

Juanita Hymer, age 91 of Breckenridge, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2019. Graveside services will be Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 1pm, Moran Cemetery. Services directed by Melton- Kitchens Funeral Home.
Juanita was born on October 27, 1927 in a rural town of Arkansas, to the parents Forrest and Rose Waldron. The family lived in the oil fields of East Texas, as her father worked for the Texas Company (later known as Texaco).
Juanita graduated from New London high school and go on to attend Kilgore College, where she became a member of the Kilgore College Rangerettes. She performed at the half time of the 1946 Rose Bowl in the L.A. Coliseum.
After college, she was a military wife and mother residing in various parts of the country, before settling in Houston in the 60’s, where she managed fashion boutiques.
The family and her beloved Larry moved from Houston to the Waco area in the 70’s where Juanita became a licensed real estate agent. She always had a special place for Waco. After, Larry passed away, Juanita retired and moved to Arkansas, where she enjoyed volunteering at local hospitals and spending time with family and her treasured pets.
Juanita is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Cook of Bryant, Arkansas, sons; David Hearnsberger of Bryant, Arkansas, Robert Welsh and Stephanie of Arlington, Texas and Steve Welsh of Dallas, granddaughters; Juanita and husband retired Lieutenant Colonel Kevin Cooney of Blythewood, SC., Sandi and husband Jimmy Elkins of Sugarland, Texas, and grandson Garren Daniel and wife Natashia of Colorado City, Texas. There are 9 great-grandchildren; Jacob, Lauren, Cara, Emma, Evan, Avery, Bayleigh, Caden and London.
The family would like to extend their thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at Villa Haven Nursing Home in Breckenridge, for the support and care they provided Juanita during her stay.
