Obituary for Ronnie Alex Jones

Ronnie Alex Jones, 76 of Breckenridge, passed away March 27, 2019. Family will be welcoming friends for a visitation on Sunday, March 31, 2019 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Melton-Kitchens Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 1, 2019 at 10 a.m. at the Gunsight Baptist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home.
Ronnie Jones, the son of Leonard “Pete” and Ola “Cutie” Jones was born in Breckenridge, Texas on December 21, 1942. After high school, he began his life long career in welding for numerous companies and families here locally. Ronnie was also, the first to be baptized and join the Gunsight Baptist Church, that making him the oldest original member of Gunsight. Anyone that knew him knows he was never afraid of a challenge. Ronnie could live off the land; hunt, fish and grow his own food. He even had his own gold mine in Fairplay, Colorado that he mined personally for years. Ronnie loved his family dearly and his church family as well. Rex Boggs was not only his pastor, but a cherished friend. Ronnie was preceded in death by only his parents.
Ronnie is survived by his daughters; Lezlie Hedges and spouse Diana Huron of Dallas, Carolyn Moore and husband Steffan of Breckenridge and Susie Pennartz of Breckenridge, Texas, brothers; Harry Jones and wife Beverly of Stephenville and Peter Jones of Mineral Wells, grandchildren; Emilee Zundt and husband Austin, Hannah Pennartz, Madeline Pennartz, Maci Patterson, Derek Baxley, Brooklyn Moore, Brecka Moore, Jordan Hedges, Christian Preihs, numerous nieces and nephews, two great grandchildren and a special nephew, Jeff Jones.
Memorial contributions can be made to the 1 Million 4 Anna Foundation or Our Town of Breckenridge and may be left at the Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home. Condolences may be made online at
